Many people thought that Mindanao is like a war arena that many killings happen. But the truth is Mindanao is a very good place for adventure,to unwind, to experience extreme events.

Mindanao encompasses the large island of Mindanao plus smaller islands in the southern Philippines. In its largest city, Davao, the Philippine Eagle Centre and Davao Crocodile Park showcase local wildlife. The urban People’s Park features statues of indigenous people and the Durian Dome, named after the spiky, smelly fruit that grows in abundance on Mindanao. Southwest, the Mount Apo volcano has trails and a lake.

But what about stunning and relaxing beaches in Mindanao? here are the top 10 beaches in Mindanao that you should not miss :

  1. White Island ( Camiguin )

White Island is an uninhabited white sandbar located about 1.4 kilometres (0.87 mi) off the northern shore of Mambajao in the volcanic island of Camiguin in the Philippines. The island is generally horseshoe shaped, although the tides constantly resize and reshape its exact form. There are no trees or shelter of any kind, and it is composed solely of white sands.

White Island attracts thousands of tourists every year. The island can be accessed from Barangay Agoho or Brgy. Yumbing in Mambajao about 4 to 6 kilometres (2.5 to 3.7 mi) west of the poblacion or town center. Small boats can be hired from any of the beachfront resorts that face the island.

2. Dako Island ( Siargao )

The island found in the province of Surigao del Norte, Philippines is also home to beautiful sceneries perfect for a day off from chasing swells. Think clean torquoise waters, cream fine sand, wide quiet shoreline, delicious grilled mahi mahi, and fantastic sun. Sounds like a page from the great book of amazing places right? The dramatic scenery as the sun resting below the horizon have been so kind to have let it exists and slowly passing off as darkness slowly covering the whole area of space. It was already dark when I left the Province of Sultan Kudarat and went straight to General Santos City as I’m going to visit the Province of Sarangani early in the morning on the succeeding day. Gumasa Beach is near one kilometer of a long stretch of powdery white sand beach with turquoise waters and known to be a Small Boracay of the Southern Mindanao.

4. Samal Beach ( Davao City )

Samal is a 4th class city in the province of Davao del Norte, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 104,123 people.[3]

Its official name is Island Garden City of Samal (Filipino: Pulong Harding Lungsod ng Samal, Cebuano: Pulong Harding Dakbayan sa Samal) and it is made up of Samal Island and the smaller Talikud Island in the Davao Gulf, making it a part of Mindanao island group.

Samal is a part of the Metropolitan Davao area and is located two kilometers away from Davao City, the largest city and the primary economic center of Mindanao.

Samal is the most famous beach in davao. It is very affordable and it is so easy to get in there. To get  there. you must go to the port located at Sasa and ride a barge.

5. Sta. Cruz Island ( Zamboanga )
